MY FIVE MINUTE JOURNAL
HELLO HELLO and happy Sunday everyone! I hope everyone had a great and productive week :)
This week’s blog post is dedicated to my five minute journal; yes people, you read that correctly, it’s dedicated to my journal. Last week, I wrote about some of the resolutions I set for myself for the new year and journaling was one of them. I wrote about how this year, I was going to set goals that were both things that I’ve been wanted to do for a long time and realistic. So far, I have written in this journal everyday and let me just say WOW. This journal has become something that I need to do right when I wake up and right before getting into bed. I have briefly spoken about it on my instagram (@thealookk) and what it has done for me. This journal has allowed me to begin my day thinking and end my day reflecting. Reflecting on my day was never something I actually did; overthinking, however is a different story. Overthinking is basically my middle name if I’m being realistic. I would wake up and overthink, go to sleep and overthink. With this journal I have been able to overthink less and simply just write and reflect; I am truly loving it.
This is something that I definitely recommend no matter how old you are to literally ANYONE. I think it is something that can easily be started and turned into a habit, and journaling is NEVER a bad habit. This has been a perfect journal for me because it is not just a blank notebook. It has different prompts and sections to write in and they are all the same, which I thought would get repetitive, but it’s the complete opposite. Like I said it makes me think. For example, the first thing to fill out is “3 things you are thankful for today” and when I read that for the first time and realized that I had to write that everyday I, weirdly enough, overthought. I thought, “how could I possibly come up with three different things everyday?” First of all, there are no rules. This is YOUR journal, so technically, you can rewrite what you’re thankful for, but I recommend trying not to. These are the things that make you think. People have so much to be thankful for and they don’t even know it. Second of all, I think that this journal can help you transition, if it’s what you want, to a blank journal where you are free to write anything. To me that is too much pressure HAHA, which is why this is the perfect journal for me!
So to summarize, I am thankful for my little journal and I recommend to anyone who wants to start journaling! It has been a great little journey for me!
Hope you enjoyed the blog!
See you next Sunday!
XOXO,
